Human Rights Commissioner Dany Pen honored as "WORLD BUILDER" in Canada.

Artist Dany Pen translate the Black Lives Matter movement for the Khmer Community


In order to help support the Black Lives Matter Movement, I realize one of the barriers in understanding the cause was language. In translating the BML movement for the Cambodian/Khmer community, I hope it will allow many more to understand the support the movement.

From 1975-1979, the Khmer Rouge regime murdered over 2 million people in the country of Cambodia. In trying to search for long lost family members, Pen had undergone an intensive search through photographic archive databases at Yale University and Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum. The database comprised of over 5000 photos of victims....


Biennial Artist Dany Pen lectures at the Bermuda National Gallery - Topic: Camera Lucida: Punctum.


In her art lecture, Biennial Artist Dany Pen explained how social issues such as genocides, refugee migrations, cultural differences, economic disparities and the ideas of the Camera Lucida by French literary theorist and philosopher Roland Barthes have influenced her work.
